Agnes Tibamanya, the chairperson Bright Village Savings and Credits Cooperative Organization, says when some members realised that Kajunjubwa had issued them fake currency notes, some of them started approaching her to replace the notes in vain.

Rosemary Kajunjubwa, a teacher at Ikoba Boy's primary school in Masindi district is in trouble over counterfeit currency. Kajunjubwa has been the treasurer of Bright Village Savings and Credits Cooperative Organization-SACCO.

She is accused of replacing genuine currency notes of member's savings with counterfeit currency. On August 22, 2016, Kajunjubwa handed over office with member's deposits worth 14 million Shillings.

However, at least Shillings 5 million turned out to be counterfeit currency. As a result, the members petitioned Masindi Resident District Commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma on Monday morning for intervention.

Nyakahuma says he has agreed with Police to apprehend Kajunjubwa to explain the source of the counterfeit money given to the Sacco. He has also advised the depositors to launch a civil suit against Kajunjubwa so as to recover their money.
