Mbale Police Nets Most Wanted Buglarly Suspects

Mbale police is holding four suspects who have been on the list of most wanted criminals for their involvement in burglary. The suspects are James Orede, Tonny Nabende, David Maruda and Yunusu Abdu. They were picked up in an operation conducted by the Police on Thursday. According to Emmanuel Mitala, the Deputy Resident Commissioner Mbale who was also involved in the operation to arrest the suspects says that, a combined force of security operatives tracked the suspects from 8.00pmm until about 1.00am when they were netted at SIMICO bar along the Mbale-Kumi road.

Mitala says that the four are believed to be behind the rampant cases of burglaries around shops in Mbale municipality. In the last one week alone, robbers have broken into eight shops and made away with unspecified amount of money and merchandise.  Two of the shops broken into recently are Bam Shopping center and Novo enterprises. Mitala says the group uses gas to cut the locks. Diana Nandaula, the Eastern Regional Police spokesperson has called on members of the public to play their part in helping police combat insecurity and report suspicious people spotted in their areas.

Two weeks ago, police netted a total of sixty seven suspects in an operation conducted in Mbale Municipality. The exercise was to crackdown on idlers, sex workers and thugs. Police said the move was prompted by the recent alarming wave of burglary, shop and house-braking in the Municipality.
