Mbarara Council Rejects District Service Commission Nominees

Mbarara councilors have rejected the names of people selected by the chairperson LCV to serve on the district service commission.

Mbarara District council has rejected the nominees to the district service commission.

Deus Tumusiime, the Mbarara district chairman presented Tom Malembe committee chairperson, Nduhukire Uthman urban authority, Gertrude Kenyangi women representative and Kenshanyu Rose a member, but council rejected the names outright.

Council chaired by speaker William Tibamanya Rushesha rejected Tom Malembe and Nduhukire on grounds that they are still young to take up the posts. 

Kenshanyu Rose, on the other hand  was rejected on grounds that she served under the former service commission which recruited and later dismissed Dues Tumusiime as district education officer.

Tumusiime sued Mbarara district local Government for unlawful dismissal, resulting into theloss of millions of shillings in compensation.

Councilors have asked the district chairperson to identify new  people to fill the vacant posts on the district service commission.

Mbarara district has beenoperating without a service commission after the term of service of the outgoing committee expired months ago.
