Police in Mbarara is holding five suspected gangsters accused of terrorising residents.

The suspects were picked up early last week following a raid on the home of Bossa Kananura, a resident of Katete- Lugazi ward in Mbarara municipality.
 
They are Moses Bahati, a native of Bushenyi district,Karimu Baryamureeba, Boaz Besigye, Alex Byamukama and Matsiko James, all residents of Lugazi ward in Mbarara. They were tracked down using a sniffer dog.
 
During the arrest of the suspects, Police recovered several items believed to have been stolen including a 6 inch mattress, 3 hoofers, 14 plastic chairs, video decoders, flat irons, blankets, flasks and a fake gun.

The suspects confessed to have started terrorising Mbarara Municipality residents way back in 2013.
