Most Wanted Mbarara Car Thief Arrested

Police in Mbarara have arrested Peter Nimusima, reportedly the most wanted car thief in the area.

The 26 year old Nimusima is alleged to have been behind several incidents of robberies in Mbarara which also involved the theft of vehicles.

Nimusima, a resident of Biharwe in Mbarara Municipality was arrested selling two stolen cars to one of the business men dealing in new and used cars around Mbarara town.

The Mbarara regional police spokesperson Vicent Ssekate says Nimusima had stolen two  Toyota  Premio cars on July 9th, 2016. One of the vehicles, a  UAP 178Q and another were reportedly to be sold off.

The notorious robber's was this time unlucky when his supposed customer instead tipped off police and was arrest at SABS restaurant in Mbarara town where he was planning to leave for Kampala.

Ssekate says that the suspect has been working with a colleague identified as Alex Twesiga who is still on the run.

Taban Chiriga, the officer in charge of the criminal investigations and intelligence department told our reporter that the suspect is a serial offender who was needed by the police. The case is registered under case file number SD/92/11/07/2106 at Mbarara police station.
