Uganda Cranes tactician, Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has said he was the only un-paid coach at the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

"I don't want to go into details but can you believe all other 15 coaches were paid up and I was the only one still demanding payments," Sredojevic told URN at the Oyem Airport on Thursday before traveling back to Uganda.

He lashed out at football stakeholders in the country to get serious with the way they handle the national team because he thinks a lot of attention must be given to the team.

He also expressed his concern about the goal scoring head-ace his team faced at the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

"We have a goal scoring problem and we must work hard to get a quick solution. We only managed to score one goal at Afcon which is a very poor return," he added.

The Serbian born coach said the goalkeeping, defending and midfield departments of his team are all doing well, while the scoring side of the team is still weak. He reasoned that there is no way his team could go far when the goals are not coming. "In football you must get the goals if you hope to win something," he added.

Sredojevic said that with the FIFA World Cup qualifier matches and 2019 Afcon qualifiers games all on card later this year, he must work hard to get his strikers to score goals. "Football matches are won by goals and they must start coming quickly," said the concerned coach.

Uganda Cranes are the only team in the Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) region in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. They are second with four points behind Egypt with six. The other teams in the group are Ghana and Congo Brazzaville.
