Uganda Cranes tactician Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has said he has turned focus on preparing the team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup opening group qualifier against Ghana.

The Black Stars will host Uganda on October 10th in the first group game before Sredojevic's team hosts five time Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) winners Egypt.

Sredojevic told URN in an interview that after breaking the 38-jinx of qualifying for Afcon, he will not be taken up by celebrations but focus on the World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Serbian coach guided Uganda Cranes to a 1-0 win over Comoros in a Group D game on Sunday to qualify for the 2017 Afcon that will take place in Gabon. "I have already started working and planning for the Ghana game and we shall have a camp in one of the West African countries and play one International friendly before the Ghana game," revealed Sredojevic.

Ghana who are chasing their fourth straight appearance at the World Cup were last weekend held to a draw 1-1 by Rwanda in a 2017 Afcon qualifier  played in Accra. Congo Brazzaville are the other team in Group E of the qualifiers.

Uganda is the only side from the Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) region to have made it to this stage of the competition.

There are five groups of four teams with only the winners of each group making it to Russia in 2018.
