Serbian born Coach Sredojevic ‘Micho’ Milutin has been confirmed as Uganda Cranes new Coach.

Micho, who until recently was Rwanda’s national football team coach, signed a two year contract and his first assignement will be an away friendly game against Libya on June 1st.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) unveiled the new coach on Tuesday afternoon at their headquarters in Mengo, Kampala.

The appointment follows the sacking of Scotsman Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson early last month. Micho said after the unveiling that he was happy to be back home since he started his coaching career in Uganda with SC Villa.

FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa said they had received 37 applications and the 43-year-old Serbian emerged best from the three that had been zeroed on.

Former Cranes assistant Sam Timbe and Kefa Kisala were also announced as assistant coaches, while Fred Kajoba retains his position as goalkeepers’ coach. FUFA also announced the Cranes squad that will start training on Friday ahead of their 2014 World Cup qualifier against Liberia on June 7 in Kampala.

Rwanda sacked Micho last month in his first job as a national team Coach.
