Engineer Gabriel Ajedra Aridu, the incumbent Arua Municipality Member of Parliament says he was prompted to shift his focus to Vvura County because of death threats from his opponents.
 

 
Ajedra is eyeing the Vvura county MP parliamentary seat in the next general elections. According to Ajedra, he decided to shift his focus from Arua municipality after some of his supporters revealed dirty plans by his political opponents against him.

Ajedra who doubles as the State Minister for Investment also claims that some of his opponents he didn't disclose masterminded the death of his wife during the 2011 elections.
 
  
The late Finia Aridru died in a motor accident at Bondo along the Nebbi Arua highway two weeks to the polls.

However, Jaffar Olekua, the former rival of Engineer Aridru in the 2011 polls says the death of the minister's wife is only known to God.

According to Olekua, Aridru is abandoning the municipality because of his political weakness and not the death threats as he claims.

 
Josephine Angucia, the North Western Region Police spokesperson asked for more time to trace for the report on the death of Late Finia before commenting on the matter.
 
 

Some of the candidates vying for the Vvura county parliamentary seat are Simon Ejua, Adriko Yovan, Dr. Sam Okuonzi, Luis Dramadri, John Anguyo, Peter Pariyo and Agrey Adrale. The only opposition candidate in the race is Lina Zedriga.
