Michael Kabaziguruka, the Nakawa Member of Parliament and 21 others have appeared before the General court martial for treason. The suspects appeared before the General court martial chaired Lt General Andrew Gutti.

Prosecution told court that between February and June this year while in different places in Kampala, Wakiso and Luweero districts, the suspects plotted to overthrow the government by force of arms. The military suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.

However, Kabaziguruka declined to enter any plea, saying the General court martial didn't have jurisdiction to try him since he is civilian. Kabaziguruka also said he couldn't answer the charges since he has been under house arrest and couldn't access his lawyers to advise him accordingly.
