President Yoweri Museveni has promoted several army officers including his son, Kainerugaba Muhoozi. The promotion is contained in a May 16th radio message from the Defense Ministry Headquarters to all units of the army.

 
This is to inform you that His Excellency and Commander in Chief has promoted the following General officers among other senior and junior officers," reads the message from the Chief of Defense Forces.  
 
 

Those promoted include Major General Joram Mugume who now becomes Lt. General, Brigadier Keinerugaba Muhoozi, the Commandant of Special Forces is now Major General and Colonel Charles Lutaya is promoted to Brigadier.

 
Others are Colonel Stephen Muzeyi Sabiitti, the Deputy Commander of Special Forces and Colonel James B. Mugabe both promoted to brigadiers.
