Hearing of a murder case against two Members of Parliament, Reagan Okumu (Aswa County) and Michael Nyeko Ocula (Kilak county) was postponed yesterday morning, due to lack of an interpreter. Kampala High Court failed to proceed after lawyers for the accused said they needed an Acholi interpreter instead of the Luo one that court had provided. The lawyers said that though the two languages were related the accused could not properly respond. Okumu and Nyeko are jointly charged with 3 other people in the alleged murder of Pabbo Sub County chairman, Alfred Bongomin. The murder is said to have taken place on February 12 2002. The accused allege the case was framed against them for political reasons. Hearing of the case has been adjourned today.
