Muyingo Calls for Installation of Lightning Arresters in Education Institutions

It followed a lightning strike at Mungoyo Primary School in Yumbe district on Wednesday, which claimed the lives of three learners and injured sixty others.

The State Minister for Higher Education, John Chrysostom Muyingo has tasked school administrators to use the 2019/20 budget cycle to provide funds for installing lightning arresters. 
He also wants private schools to do the same so as to save learners from being hit by thunderbolts.

He made the plea while presiding over the release of Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board (UBTEB) May/June examination results.

 
It followed a lightning strike at Mungoyo Primary School in Yumbe district on Wednesday, which claimed the lives of three learners and injured sixty others. 

As to Muyingo, the lightning strikes are likely to increase as the rain season sets in.
