The commander of the 105th Brigade in Nakapipirit, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Kimbowa, survived death on Thursday evening when suspected cattle rustlers opened fire on his convoy. Kimbowa's convoy was heading to Nakapiripirit Town Council from Loputuk sub-county where he had gone to witness the hand over of cows recovered from cattle rustlers. The 103 heads of cattle were stolen from homesteads in Loputuk on Tuesday this week. One of Kimbowa's escorts was critically injured when the armed men ambushed his car and fired at it. The UPDF Third Division spokesperson, Lieutenant Henry Obbo, says a group of cattle rustlers had earlier in the day attempted to disrupt the handover ceremony in Naturum village. Their plan was however foiled by the soldiers. // Cue in: iIt's unfortunate #i Cue out: i# all those ambushesi. //
