A candidate in today's National Resistance Movement primary elections in Isingiro district has accused her rivals of bribery. Lillian Ruteraho, who is seeking the NRM approval to stand for the Isingiro Woman MP seat, claimed that several highly-placed politicians are sponsoring the vote buying and bribery. She declined to name any of the politicians behind the alleged malpractice. Ruteraho, who said she was in 2006 asked by the NRM to stand aside in favor of the deceased Isingiro Woman MP, Kyaaka Kyokuhirwa, is surprised that the party is not there for her today. She said she is disappointed by the amount of money floating around to influence the outcome of today's primary elections. //Cue in: There is the money ..." Cue out: "# after being defeated."// Jackson Ahimbisibwe, the LC5 councilor for Ngarama, who supports one of Ruteraho's rivals, Grace Byarugaba, said the election process has been open and transparent. He said supporters of Byarugaba's campaign have contributed money to supoprt her bid.
