NRM Honors Outgoing Parliamentary Committee Chairpersons

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has recognized excellent service for its members who chaired both standing and sessional committees in the ninth parliament.

Those acknowledged for exceptional services include Robert Kasule Ssebunya - the chairperson of the finance committee, Vincent Bagiire -the chairperson of the ICT committee, Mathias - Kasamba -the chairperson of the agriculture committee and Amos Lugoloobi - the chairperson of the budget committee among other members.

As the term for the ninth parliament comes to an end, the members were rewarded with certificates at a function presided over by the Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda this afternoon. The term for the ninth parliament ends on Wednesday May 11.

Rugunda appealed to the MPs who have not been re-elected to the Tenth parliament to use their experience in parliament to improve their well being and contribute positively to the development of the country.

Agriculture committee chairperson, Mathias Kasamba said that exposure and experience they have gained in the parliament committees is a wealth for government.

Government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa said that the members who were re-elected to parliament are now recognized as people with experience and are eligible for redeployment in the tenth parliament.

Nankabirwa also appealed to government to appoint capable NRM MPs who lost in the just concluded general election in different service areas like boards, commissions and authorities.
