Mobile Computers, a private business firm has dragged the National Resistance Movement to the Commercial court over failure to pay 250 million shillings. Through Atiang Otim advocates, Mobile Computers contends that it entered a contract with NRM two years ago, to supply 203 Toshiba laptops to the party secretariat at 1.3 million shilling each.

The party allegedly paid only 22 million shillings and promised to pay the remaining balance of 250 million shillings in vain. Mobile Computers says that despite sending several reminders, the party leadership has failed to clear their balance. The firm now wants the Commercial court to compel NRM to pay the money with accumulated interest arising out of late payment.

Mobile Computers claims that it nearly ran out of business because of the failure by NRM to clear its debt. Margret Tibulya, the registrar of the Commercial Court has ordered the National Resistance Movement to respond to the suite within 14 days to allow Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire to start hearing the case.
