A nursery school in Fort Portal has been demolished over a family wrangle. The affected nursery is Stella Maris Nursery school; the oldest in Fort Portal.


 
Stella Maris Nursery school has been in existence since 1986. The wrangle involves four siblings who accuse their sister and director of the school, Rosemary Byandondo for failing to construct permanent structures.

 
One of the relatives Vicky Kyamanywa, says that after their mother passed away, it was agreed that the wooden structures be demolished and be replaced with permanent structures, but Bwandondo has been hesitant.

 
They also accuse Byandondo of failing to remit money to the family account every month. This morning at 6:30a.m, the siblings stormed the school located on Kamuhingi Road, South Division and demolished some classrooms.
 

Residents alerted police, who arrived in time and arrested four people. Musa Tibakairana, the Kabarole District Police Commander, says those in police custody are Vicky Kyamanywa, Joseph Baronzi, Belta Baronzi and Hilda Bahemuka. Police has since cordoned off the school.
