One person has died on the spot and scores are reported injured in a motor accident along the Ntungamo Rukungiri road.
 
The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim Musoke of Kajjansi, Wakiso. Musoke was driving the ill-fated Fuso lorry registration number UAU /063F that was fully loaded with merchandise to Rukungiri district.
 
The morning accident occurred at Rwashamaire town council in Kajara county Ntungamo district.
 
Ahmed Abu-Bakr, an eye witness, told the URN reporter at the scene that Musoke failed to control his speeding truck at Rwanshamaire town before ramming into ten people including two pupils on their way to school.
 
According to the Officer in charge of traffic Ntungamo Central Police Station AIP Chris Omaka, Musoke was attempting to avoid knocking down school children crossing the busy Rukungiri road when he lost control.
 
Omaka blamed the accident on over speeding.
 
He identified the injured pupils as Emmanuel Begumanya (7) and Eunice Atukwase(9) from Bunyana Primary School.
 
The other accident victims, who were rushed to Nyakibale hospital for treatment, have not yet been identified. Musoke's body was taken to Rwakabengo health center IV for postmortem.
 
The recently released police report in Ntungamo district showed an increase of 2 accidents occurring weekly along the Mbarara Kabale and Rukungiri roads.
