FDC President General Mugisha Muntu says that the failure by the state to produce former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye in court today is an exposure of the attempts by government to stifle opposition space.
His comments came after the prisons authorities stated that Dr Besigye, currently in Luzira prison over treason charges, could not be produced in court today for security reasons. The state instead requested that Besigye appears at another court in Luzira.
But Muntu told journalists that such actions might push the population to challenge this through protests and demonstrations.
