Comments 405 Views Kampala, Uganda

Business in the surroundings of Makerere University on Tuesday came to a standstill as student protested the proposed constitutional amendment to lift the cap on the presidential age limit.

Several shops in the areas of Kikoni and Kasubi closed for a better part of the day as police and crime preventers were engaged in running battles with the students.

At least thirteen University students were arrested and are currently held at Wandegeya, according to Joseph Nsabimana, the Wandegeya District Police Commander.
