Pictorial: Supporters Overwhelm Police as Kyagulanyi Takes Oath

Comments 703 Views Kampala, Uganda

There was excitement in and around parliament as the Kyadondo East MP- elect Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine made his way to swear in.

Police decided to close both the main and northern gates to manage the situation as hundreds of supporters accompanied Kyagulanyi to take oath in parliament. Officers from the Field Force Unit and Traffic police were called in to manage traffic along Parliament Avenue and the big number of people.

Only 80 supporters of the MP elect were allowed to enter the chambers of parliament.
As a result, hundreds of supporters camped outside the main gate of parliament as they patiently waited for Kyagulanyi to take oath. URN followed this event and now brings you pictures.
