Each village with modern houses has 20 houses with two bedrooms, 10 kitchens and five pit latrines of four stans each. They were furnished with solar, bedding and house furniture among others.
However, all the houses have developed huge cracks. Some have fallen naturally and others blown up by the wind.
The beneficiaries live in fear but those who can afford have opted for Manyattas, their original housing model.
The houses are found in Nachuka and Loputiput villages in Nadunget sub county and Nakapelimen in South Division, Moroto Municipality. They were constructed by the UPDF engineering department.
URN brings some of the pictures from Moroto Modern Houses.
