Police have busted members of the B-13, a criminal gang in Luweero who had started regrouping months after they were released from jail. Those in police custody are Rose Najjemba, Ibrah Ssentongo, Kyaterekera Kasagga, Kamada Ssempala and Amos Kisakye.

B-13 alias Bad Boys comprises youths who are behind numerous crimes such as theft, burglary, defilement, rape, and murder amongst others. Early this year, Luweero police arrested more than 20 members of the groups and arraigned them in court, which sentenced them to various jail terms.

However, the group members completed their jail term and were released only to regroup and resume their activities. As a result, police swung into action early this week and picked up five suspects.
Justus Asiimwe, the Luweero District Police Commander says their operations in the town council suburbs were prompted by complaints of insecurity from residents.

He says the suspects will be charged with theft and burglary. He adds that

The arrest of the B-13 group members comes days after police announced heightened security following fears of infiltration by wrong elements behind the attacks in Rwenzori region.
