Polling Officials Delay Voting in Kabale

By 8:00am, Voting at Kabale Seventh Day Adventist Polling Station, had not yet kicked off as polling officials arrived to set up the site. Jane Kyokunzire, one of the polling agents, says the materials arrived in time, but the polling officials were not on time. Voter turn up is also still low. At Kabale main stadium, three polling stations had not opened by 8:00am. The polling officials were still struggling to register all materials that were brought in for the election. Natukunda James the Presiding officer at Kabale NTC polling station, was worried that polling could be delayed if the polling agents fail to turn up on time // Cue in: "one of the reasons"... Cue out: ..."use our mobilisers"// At Kabale NTC polling stations polling officials were demanding the transfer of the station as the college did not close and they fear students would paralyze the exercise. Natukunda James, says other workshops of Stanbic Bank were also going on at the polling station using loud speakers. // Cue in: "disturbance is from"... Cue out: "disappointed to find"// According to Natukunda the noise is too much and they cannot afford to shift to other places which are not being used by the voters.
