A primary seven candidate of Atoroma Primary school,Toroma sub county in Katakwi district yesterday gave birth during the English Primary Leaving Examination paper.

Monica Anyait (16) a resident of Apuuton village gave birth to a baby girl at Toroma Health Centre 3.

Grace Epechu, head teacher Atoroma Primary School, confirmed that Anyait managed to try to answer 25 questions before she went into labour.

Epechu noted that Anyait was sitting for her fourth paper in Toroma Health Centre 3.

Epechu said that Anyait is still admitted with her baby at the health centre.

The Inspector of Schools, Toroma County, Patrick Ongwali confirmed the incident.

 A total of 79 candidates sat for PLE exams in Atoroma Primary School.
