Private Developers Grab Kabale Hospital Land

Justus Tindyebwa, Kabale district information officer has been implicated together with other private developers for grabbing land belonging to Kabale Referral hospital.
 
 
Dr. Placid Mihayo, the medical superintendent Kabale Referral hospital says that about 25 acres of the hospital land has been grabbed by the developers.
 
 
He says that as a result, the hospital lacks land for expansion yet they want to construct a private wing, staff quarters and expand the nursing school.

Mihayo explains that unless the hospital administration finds another piece of land for the new projects government will allocate the projects to other hospitals.
 
 
 
Mihayo says constructing a staff quarters will enable the medical staff stay close to the hospital and improve their services.
 
 
Silver Baguma, outgoing Kabale district LC V chairman says that large chunks of land belonging to the government have been grabbed because of lack of land titles.
 
 
He says that Kabale Hospital have fallen victim to land grabbers because its land is not registered. Ananius Muhunde, the board chairman Kabale Hospital says that they have referred the matter to the office of attorney general for investigations.
 
 
Muhunde says that they can not leave hospital land to be taken by private developers.
 
 
But Justus Tindyebwa, the District Information officer says that he bought the disputed land saying that he has all the necessary documents.
 

Tindyebwa has asked the hospital administration to proceed with the case before he is ready to defend himself.
