Professional players Brian Umony and defender Murushid Juuko have been included on the Uganda Cranes team ahead of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho' Sredojevic has included two professional players Brian Umony and defender Murushid Juuko on his squad ahead of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

The 25-man team was announced today ahead of the tournament which will run November 21 to December 5th in Ethiopia. Sredojevic said he has picked most of the players who are part of his plans for the 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

"We need to use this tournament to help players get match practice in their legs," added Sredojevic. The tournament will be played in the three cities of Hawassa, Bahir Dar and Addis Ababa.

Attacking midfielder Farouk Miya who scored two goals when Uganda Cranes ejected Togo in the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Sunday is part of the team together with Robert Ssentongo who has been recalled.

Uganda will open their campaign in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup on Sunday with a Group B game against defending champions Kenya in Addis Ababa. The other teams in the same group are Zanzibar and Burundi.

The other nations taking part in the event include hosts Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia, Sudan, Djibouti, South Sudan and guest side Malawi.
