Rakai police are investigating the sudden death of a 16 year old, senior four student of Nile Citizen Vocational Secondary School.

Esther Nagawa (16) was found unconscious in her room after returning from coaching lessons on Thursday.

Nagawa was rushed by her mother Phoebe Nakintu to Kisa Medical Clinic at Kalisizo town where she was pronounced dead a few minutes after admission.

Nakintu said that her daughter had not complained of feeling ill prior to finding her unconscious on her bed on Thursday evening.

She said that Nagawa had returned from the home of her Biology teacher Tadeo Kityamuwesi’s home. She had been receiving holiday coaching lessons from Kityamuwesi.

Kityamuwesi, however, strongly denied any wrong doing on his part.

Kityamuwesi said that Nagawa had not eaten anything from his home and he was just as shocked as everyone to hear of Nagawa's death.

Kityamuwesi said that all the other 15 students who attended lessons with Nagawa had gone back home in perfect health.

Nagawa's body was transferred to kalisizo hospital for post-mortem examination.

Rakai district Criminal Investigations Officer, Rose Nabakooza said that police is waiting for the post-mortem results before deciding on how to proceed.
