Judith Rwakishumba, Jinja Resident District Commissioner has faulted Kale Kayihura, Inspector General of Police for disbanded the newly appointed leadership of Jinja Central Market. It follows a decision by Kayihura to disband the leadership of Jinja Central Market citing security reasons. Kayihura rushed to Jinja Central Market last week to stem violent clashes amongst vendors due to the appointment of Charles Busulwa as the new market chairman.

Busulwa was appointed by  Muhammad Baswale Kezaala to replace Jackson Kabuzi when he accused by the vendors of failure to conduct polls for new office bearers. In his meeting with the vendors last week, Kayihura disbanded the entire leadership of the market and it back to Jinja municipality. Without divulging details, Kayihura said his decision was based on security reasons.

However, Judith Rwakishumba, Jinja Resident District Commissioner is protesting the decision by Kayihura to disband the market leadership. Rwakishumba says it was wrong for Kayihura to disband the leadership of Jackson Kabuzi saying that as a far as she is concerned Kabuzi is chairman Jinja Central Market.

She says that Kabuzi will continue serving until she receives a communication from local governments minister Adolf Mwesige. Jinja Municipality has not yet commented on the new development as the mayor could not be reached.
