Sports Club Villa have qualified for the next round of the 2016 CAF Orange Confederations Cup.

Coach Ibrahim Kirya's team beat hosts Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) SC 1-0 in Zanzibar yesterday to qualify for the next round on a 5-0 goal aggregate. Ambrose Kirya scored the lone goal in the first half at the Amaan Stadium.

The home side tried to fight back in the second half, but found the SC Villa back-line ready for the task. "We are very excited that we have qualified after keeping a clean sheet," Kirya told URN on phone on Friday night. Ambrose Kirya scored at the Amman Stadium on Friday.

SC Villa who also ejected Sudan's Khartoum FC in the preliminary round on a 2-0 goal aggregate will now face Morocco's FUS Rabat or USL Loum (Cameroon) in the second round. The two teams who face-off today settled for a 1-all draw in the first leg.

But the club President Emmanuel Misagga has said traveling for the next game will need lots of money. "The team traveled to Zanzibar by road because we do not have enough funds. But we call upon the general public to come in and help before our next opponent.
