A bomb explosion at the United Nations Building in the Nigerian capital Abuja, has left scores dead and several people injured.

Michael Ofilaje, a UNICEF worker at the building, was quoted by the AP news agency saying there was a loud explosion and smoke billowed from the building. "I saw scattered bodies," "Many people are dead." Ofilaje added.
 
He said it felt like "the blast came from the basement and shook the building".
 
Friday's attack took place at about 11:00 local time (1000 GMT) in the diplomatic zone in the centre of the city, close to the US embassy.
 
Emergency services removed dead bodies from the building, while a number of wounded were  rushed to hospital.
 
There has been no claim of responsibility for Friday's attack, but government officials have blamed "terrorists" for the bombing,
