Sharing Water with a Marabou Stork Top story

Water Aid reports that 8.5 million Ugandans do not have access to safe water. Over 22 million people do not have access to adequate sanitation in Uganda. Over 12, 000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
Dire statistics. But what about the Ugandans who do have access to water? As our pictorial from Makerere University, Kampala, shows, that does not necessarily mean the water Ugandans are using is safe. There is a water tank in Makerere University that is used by the campus population and some of its nature, especially birds, as it is uncovered.
