A section of Muslims in Soroti are pushing for the resignation of Sheikh Abdul Musa Mutwalib Waiswa, the Kadhi Teso Muslim district for alleged failure to account for over UGX 9M.
Sheik Asuman Okiror, the chairperson Teso Muslim District council says that, the Khadi has failed to account for Ugx 9,350,000 that was collected as rent from the storage building belonging to the council along Jumabhai road in Central ward.

According to Okiror, the storage house generated a total of Ugx 33,750,000 for a period of nine month, but the Kadhi only presented accountability for Ugx 24,400,000 leaving a balance of Ugx 9,350,000.

Sheik Ramathan Ibwakit, the secretary for Religious affairs says those opposed to the Kadhi raided his office on 17th October 2014 and ordered him and other officials out.
He says they matched out peacefully but reported the matter to police.  Ibwakit says during the raid, the youth beat him up, grabbed UGX 350,000 and confiscated his phone when he attempted to take pictures as the youth locked his office.
According to the Ibwakit, the Khadi's troubles are engineered by some people who want to benefit from the proceeds accruing from Muslim property.
