An outbreak of a strange cattle disease in Kiboga district, is threatening to wipe out livestock in Kapeke sub-county, Kiboga district. Worst affected are cattle keepers in Seesa Kirinda parish,Kapeke sub-county Kiboga district. Sam Byarugaba, one of the cattle keepers, says the disease was noticed last week, and he has so far lost six heads of cows. Byarugaba says that the sick cow presents symptoms of weight loss, and exhaustion. While the nature of the disease that is killing the cows is still unclear, Byaruhanga does not rule out the possibility that the cows could have been poisoned by cultivators who have been at loger heads with pastoralists. He says he has already contacted Kiboga district veterinary officer to establish the cause of the deaths in the cattle fields. By press time, a team from Kiboga district veterinary department had not yet reached at Byaruhanga's farm.
