Strong winds have blown away election materials at one of the polling stations in Bokora County, Napak district.
The incident happened this afternoon at Lorupayo polling station, Lokali parish in Matany Sub County, 32 kilometers South West of Moroto town.
Sources that spoke to Uganda Radio Network indicated that a whirl wind carried away the ballot boxes containing already ticket ballot papers. For a moment, the ballot papers were seen flying in the air before the wind came down.

Mt Moroto Regional Police Commander Aruk Richard Maruk described the situation as unfortunate. He explains that the winds surfaced as the voting process was in progress and carried away the box for the directly elected Members of Parliament.
Aruk attributes the incident to the ongoing drought in Karamoja region characterized with severe sunshine and heavy coastal winds flying over Mt Moroto.
Napak Resident District Commissioner Nahaman Ojwee says with natural hazards, no investigation is required but hastens to add that the electoral commission will decide on the fate of the aspirants.
Contenders in the race include the incumbent Member of Parliament Terence Achia Sodium and Ngoya John Bosco.
