Teenager Strangles Baby

Police in Hoima are holding an 18-year-old girl for Murder. Florence Twesigye, a resident of Kabaale in Buseruka Sub County, Hoima district is accused of strangling her baby boy Allan Tumusiime. Martin Muwanika, the Hoima district police commander says that Twesigye committed the offence on Thursday night, at her parents Home in Buseruka. The matter was brought to the attention of police by Twesigye's sister shortly after the girl narrated her misdemeanor to her sister. The motive of the murder is not clear, but preliminary investigations show that the girl acted out of frustration. The girl told police that it had become increasingly difficult to look after her baby without any support from her lover. Matters were complicated further by her parents who refused to recognize her boyfriend as a father of her kid and a potential husband. The DPC says that the girl will be produced in court shortly to answer charges of murder.
