Tension is rising at Bulunguli Mosque in Buyanga Sub Iganga district, just hours to the arrival of the rival Mufti Sheiekh Zubair Kayongo.
Sheikh Kayongo is scheduled to visit the mosque on Friday.
Iganga district's top Muslim leadership led by Mufti Ramathan Mubajje and the Regional Khadi sheikh Sinani Muwanika, have petitioned the District Police commander asking him to block Kayongo's visit.
But Gausdencio Okumu, the district police commander, is equally confused, following reports that the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and Internal affairs minister Al Hajji Ali Kirunda Kivejinja. Is behind Kayongo's planned visit.
The DPC says that he is waiting for instructions from the regional police commander Christopher Kubai on the way forward.
