Two people have been injured in an Ambush at Pakibo village, about 13kilometers from Pabbo trading centre along the Gulu-Juba road. The ambush occurred at 4:00am, when a Juba bound Truck was attacked by a gang of armed men. Christopher Ojera, the Pabbo sub county LCIII, says the truck was loaded with foodstuffs and other merchandise, but the armed me took off with most of the merchandise and robbed the passengers of an unspecified amount of money. The ambush this morning is the second in less than a week.On Monday; a gunman robbed more than 100,000 shillings when he ambushed a trailer returning from Sudan. Ronald Kakurungu, the UPDF spokesperson for northern region says the army is tracing the suspected gunmen in Pabbo. In a related incident, a popular businessman at Pabbo trading centre was last night killed by armed robbers. Oduny was shot twice in the waist before the robbers made off with yet unspecified amount of money. He died from his bullet wounds shortly after he was admitted in Lacor hospital, Pabbo branch. The LCIII chairman said the robberies and ambushes have triggered off panic among the local population. Columbus Onno, a social worker at Pabbo trading centre said this morning that the rate of activities is slowing by the day for fear. This morning; fewer shops have opened their doors to business because of fear.
