Very few Ugandan employees report work related disputes to their respective district labor offices. The senior labor officer Kampala Aldrine Namala says, many work related cases go unreported and leave the employees grumbling. While speaking to our reporter today Morning, Namala dismissed claims that her office under values and delays workers compensation. According to Namala workers compensation is calculated basing on individual workers payment and takes between 3 to 4 months. She says the district labor office has no capacity to pin companies that fail to pay compensation. Namala says her office liaises with insurance companies where applicable to effect payments. She however, says where the insurance companies fail to respond the victims and their relatives can seek legal redress from courts of law.
