The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), has announced a 100 million shillings donation, to assist in the improvement of health and Education delivery in Karamoja region. The Moroto Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, Moses Kapolon says more than 30 million shillings will be spent on Training Health Workers and on HIV/AIDS awareness programs. Kapolon says some of the money will also help to pay for the costs of repairing 16 boreholes. The Karamoja UNICEF programme officer, Kabagambe Lokiru, has warned the district leaders, against diverting the money meant for project development in the region. He said that UNICEF will not hesitate to block future donations, if the money is not accounted for.
