Unidentified Gunmen Shoot Kasese Businesswoman

Unknown thugs have shot dead a businesswoman in Karambi sub county Kasese district. The deceased has been identified as Teddy Kyeyomba, a resident of Kathoma village in Karambi Sub County. Kyeyomba was shot at her home by unidentified gunmen at around 2am on Monday morning. She was rushed to Kagando hospital in critical condition where she doctors pronounced her dead at 6am.

Martine Balitebya, the LC 3 chairperson Karambi sub county says unidentified assailants broke into Kyeyomba’s home and shot her several times in the chest. Balitebya says that Kyeyomba has been a prominent fish trader in the district. Michael Musani Sabila, the Kasese District Police Commander says that he has dispatched a team of detectives with a sniffer dog to try and find the assailants. Lt. Col. Mawa Muhindo, the Kasese LC V chairperson has regretted the murder. He has vowed not to rest until the killers of the businesswoman are brought to justice.

Muhindo has appealed to the residents to volunteer information that will lead to arrest of the assailants. Lt. Yiga Ssajabi, the commander of the 305 UPDF battalion says they have teamed up with police to hunt for the gun men who have been murdering people in Bukonzo west. The murder of Kyeyomba brings to 14, the number of people killed by unknown assailants in Kasese district since March last year.
