USD 40,000 Business Information Center Commissioned in Mbale

The Information Communication and Technology minister, Dr. Ham Mulira, has this afternoon commissioned a 40,000 dollar business information center, in Mbale. The fully fledged one stop information center was setup using funds from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The center will offer market information, business advisory services and computer training to micro small business entrepreneurs in eastern Uganda. The ICT Minister, Ham Mulira, said the Mbale business center will boost government efforts in fighting poverty. // Cue in: iIt's my sincere#i Cue out i#rural surroundingsi The UNIDO National Program Coordinator, Robinah Sabano, said the Mbale district business information center would boost the development of small micro-business enterprise through online marketing. UNIDO has set up four other business information centers in Masaka, Soroti, Arua, and Kabale to extend Information Communication and Technology services to small micro business enterprises. According to the statistics from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), Uganda currently has about 800,000 micro, small and medium business enterprises.
