Woman Kills In-law over Tobacco

A woman on Monday night twisted her brother-in-law’s neck killing him instantly after he denied her tobacco in Kaabong district.  The incident happened 290 kilometres from Moroto town.
 
Christine Nakong (25), reportedly killed Meri Lobwo (18), her in-law she has lived with for over 12 years. The family resides in Dahisiki village, Kapedo parish in Kapedo Sub- County.
 
The deceased was a senior two student of Komukuny Secondary School in Kaabong district.
 
Francis Salube, the in charge crime desk in Kaabong districts, confirms the development describing it as unfortunate.
 
He explains that Nakong wanted to sniff some tobacco after her supper. He says she asked her in-law for some tobacco but when he declined to give her some, she lost her temper. A fight ensued and during the fight she twisted his neck and killed him instantly.
 
He says the police have arrested the suspect to help them investigations.
 
Irene Acheng, the Police spokesperson-Karamoja, says police is also looking for Nakong's husband to give them more details on the killing of his brother.
