Young Man Held for Raping Own Grandmother

Apac Police are holding a 20-year-old man accused of raping his 103-year-old grandmother. The suspect is Daniel Okori, a resident of Amia B village in Aboko parish, Aduku Sub County in Apac district.

Pamela Akullu, the officer in charge of Criminal intelligence and Investigations Department at Apac CPS, says Okori for attempted murder and raping his grandmother in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

She says they have opened charges vide police file number CRB 292/2017 at Aduku police post. Alfonse Ojangole, the Apac District Police Commander, says the suspect will appear in court anytime soon once investigations are complete.

The elderly rape victim told URN on her sick bed at Aduku health center IV that Okori stormed her room at night and raped her while strangling her and threatened to kill her should she continue making alarm

"That fateful night it was raining and there was no light, I didn't think it could be him," she said. A clinical officer at the health center told URN that the rape victim arrived at the health center in critical condition.

"She had injuries on the neck, hands, and private parts but she is responding to treatment."
