Ronald Mulondo, the Bulemeezi County chief under the Buganda Kingdom is still skeptical about whether Bulemeezi County Football Club (FC) fans can watch a full game with discipline. Last year, Bulemeezi County faced a ban from the popular Buganda Kingdom’s Masaza soccer tournament due to fan indiscipline.

The ban stemmed from an investigation into the chaos that erupted after the Semi-final return leg on October 16, 2022, against Buddu County at Kasana playground. A ruling on October 26, 2022, by the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee confirmed this. Bulemeezi fans were held responsible for assaulting 11 Buddu fans and damaging 13 vehicles.

Similarly, Bulemeezi accused Buddu fans of theft and assault after the game. There were counter-accusations by Bulemeezi that Buddu fans entered the stadium without paying. The committee made its judgment using video footage. Additionally, four Bulemeezi players – Ssessazi Sulaiman, Oloya Habibu, Zizinga Ashraf, and Bagenda Abdul – received two-year bans for attacking match officials. One Bulemeezi fan, Patrick Bunya, was banned from attending any Masaza Cup games for five years.

The committee ordered that at the start of the 2023 season, Bulemeezi FC would play its first three home matches at a neutral ground, to be determined by the organizing committee. In August, Kkangaawo Mulondo encouraged Bulemeezi soccer fans to fill up playgrounds in large numbers after the expiration of the fan ban.

Bulemeezi FC will face Buwekula FC in the quarter-finals at Kasana Playground in Luwero Town Council later this evening. Mulondo has emphasized the need for discipline. In a statement shared by the Bulemeezi County Spokesperson, Mugeere Emmanuel, he urged Bulemeezi FC enthusiasts to fill the playground and support their team in a match starting at 3 p.m.

He reminded fans that the first three matches were played without fans allowed in the playground. “Please come in large numbers and cheer up the players so that we win against Buwekula. We must secure this year’s trophy. Let’s meet at Kasana at 3 pm this Sunday,” he said.
