There is heavy police deployment in Mbale City ahead of the mobilization of the tour of the National Unity Platform-NUP president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu. Heavily armed anti-riot police personnel backed by armored trucks were seen living at the Mbale police barracks this morning in preparation for the visit.
According to sources, the deployment is meant to ensure that Kyagulanyi and his supporters stick to the roadmap issued by the police to avoid disruptions. Kyagulanyi is expected to access Mbale city through Tororo Road and connect to Post Bank, Nkokonjeru, and go to Open Gate Radio through North Road Primary School to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital main gate and turn to Pallisa Road for the launch of the NUP offices.
