Makerere University students held a demonstration on Friday holding against the eviction of small business operators at the campus.

They argued that the management had not given them an alternative because they have been the biggest beneficiaries of the affected businesses.

The affected businesses include  canteens, photocopiers and eateries among others. These were located in different halls of residences and colleges.

Julius Gumisiriza, the chairperson of the small businesses owners association, said that more than 300 businesses are affected.
