The Right Reverend Lawrence Mukasa was consecrated and installed as the third Bishop of Kasana Luweero Saturday. The Bishop’s set fell vacant in December 2021 when Pope Francis appointed Right Reverend Paul Ssemogerere to replace the late Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga as Archbishop of Kampala.
On April 29th, 2023, Pope Francis appointed Reverend Monsignor Lawrence Mukasa, the Vicar General of Kiyinda Mityana Diocese to replace Right Rev. Paul Ssemogerere as Bishop of Kasana Luwero Diocese. On Saturday, Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere led a mass where he consecrated and installed Lawrence Mukasa as the third Bishop of Kasana Luwero Diocese.
Christians received Bishop Mukasa at Lumansi swamp which borders Kasana Luwero and Kampala Archdiocese on his way to his consecration at Our Lady of Fatima Queen of Peace Cathedral in Luwero town. URN captured the moments in pictures.
