A 21-year-old Rwandan national, James Tuyizere, passed away on Monday while in transit aboard a Horizon-bound bus. The incident occurred on a bus with the registration number UAM 218H, traveling from Kampala to Kisoro district. Tuyizere, a resident of Nyabihu district in Western province, was among the passengers on this journey.
Hamis Magomu, an eyewitness and fellow passenger, recounted the events. The journey commenced on Sunday night from Kampala, with Tuyizere appearing somewhat frail, as observed by Magomu. Upon reaching Ntungamo around 8:00 AM, Tuyizere began vomiting. Concerned, bus conductors relocated him from the front seat to the back for better comfort.
As the journey progressed towards Kabale town, Tuyizere’s condition worsened, and he succumbed to his illness. Police transported the deceased’s body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination. The exact cause of Tuyizere’s death is yet to be determined through the postmortem process.
